Victor Cheung

Designer, engineer, and design leader shaped by cultures, systems, and craft.

Raised between French and Chinese cultures, and having lived and worked across Europe and Asia, I have learned to see context as a practical part of design. Products are interpreted differently across markets, and strong design decisions often depend on understanding those differences early — between users, cultural expectations, business priorities, technical constraints, and the realities of the organization. That perspective has helped me bridge gaps across regions, disciplines, and teams.

My route into industrial design started with mechanical engineering and hands-on exposure to manufacturing before moving through consultancy and in-house corporate design. That progression shaped a pragmatic design perspective: balancing intent with feasibility, ambition with execution, and product experience with the realities of development, production, and launch.

Looking ahead, I want to build on this experience in roles and collaborations where design is used to question assumptions, shape behavior, and create products that matter in people’s lives. I am especially drawn to opportunities that connect product strategy, hardware design, brand identity, and technology into coherent systems with cultural, functional, and emotional relevance.

The work is strongest when discussed through the decisions behind it: what was prioritized, what changed, what was constrained, and what ultimately shipped.
